Since 1961, in Madonna di Campiglio
A dream that has taken root
The first page of our history begins in 1949, on a bus perched on the road from Trento to Pinzolo.
On board were our grandfather Vigilio Maturi, who had emigrated to America. He was visiting the old country, and one of his former neighbours wanted to sell a house in Madonna di Campiglio. The stars aligned and they decided to go to the notary immediately to conclude the deal.
In 1959, Vigilio’s son Albino left Detroit for Italy and decided to transform that little cottage into a hotel that he named the Majestic. For that time it was a decidedly avant-garde hotel, with a dining room, bar, and a nightclub with live music. A shop was entrusted to his sister Lia Maturi: the Alpi Perfumery, currently managed by her niece Barbara.
The Majestic opened its doors in 1961, on Christmas. Since then it has been our family jewel, we have continually perfected every aspect to offer our guests a superlative holiday, an expression of our love for hospitality and for this wonderful area.
